Jer 23:6, "In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."

Bible tells us that one of the names of God is "The Lord our righteousness". If we read a few verses above we can understand that these verses talk about the coming Messiah. These verses also indicate that the coming Messiah was none other than God Himself. The whole chapter tells us about the unfaithfulness of the shepherds and prophets who harmed the people of God and made them to sin against God. In Jer 23:2 we read, "Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: "You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings," says the LORD."

But in the 3rd verse we read the kind words which God spoke in His great mercy, "But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase." And He fulfilled His promise when He sent His only Son to die for us. Jesus came in this world to take back the lost humanity who are lost in their sins. He came in this world to die for us so that we could come out of our sins and live a righteous life. Adam and Eve sinned against God and became unrighteous in the sight of God. They became sinners and they were driven out of the Garden of Eden. But God did not forget the little creature called human being. His eyes were always looking for people who should walk in His holy ways and live righteous lives. At the time of Noah, people were wicked and unrighteous but Bible says in Gen 6:8, "Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD."

The next verse tells us the reason why Noah found grace in the eyes of God as we read in Gen 6:9, "This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God." He was a man who walked with God and was perfect and righteous in the sight of God.

When a person knows God personally and gets forgiveness of his/her sin, he/she is righteous before God. That person walks in the ways of God and lives a holy life. Bible says in 1 John 3:9, "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."

What is your position today? Is Jesus your righteousness? If not, you need to know Him personally. You need to get forgiveness of your sins and walk in His holy ways. Those who sin will be destroyed but those who are righteous in the eyes of God will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Come to Jesus with repenting heart and walk in His ways.

You may be a fool!

By Sherly Isaac

Psa 14:1-2, "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God."

Even today in this world many believe that, "there is no God" and they do all kinds of abominable things. They speak with confidence as if they know everything from the past and the future, about heaven above and earth below. But Bible considers them as a fool. It is possible that they might have received good education, big degrees after their names and they may be highly intellectual individuals, still if they do not know God, they are nothing better than a fool in the sight of God.

In the book of Proverbs the wisest man Solomon writes that finding God is finding wisdom or knowing God is finding wisdom. We read in Prov 3:12-18, "For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her." Also in Prov 3:21-22, "My son, let them not depart from your eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck."

Solomon again writes in Prov 12:15, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise." There are many who live in sin and do abominable things but justify themselves saying there is no thing called "God".

But the Bible talks about the importance of knowing God. God who created us wants fellowship with us. But there are many who go to Church every Sunday and yet they do not know who God really is and they do not have a personal relationship with God. They never know God. Jer 2:13 "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns; broken cisterns that can hold no water." But still God wants to save you. He wants to show you that He is Lord as we read in Jer 24:7, 'Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart."

If you do not know God then according to the Bible, you are a fool. If one day you will die like a fool, you will lose your soul forever but if you turn to God and accept Him as your Lord and Savior you will be saved.

Jesus spoke about two men who made their houses. One founded his house on rock but the other on sand. When storm came the house which was built on sand fell but the house built on rock stood firm. Jesus said in Mat 7:24-27, "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

If your life's foundation is not on Jesus, then you are like the person who built his house on sand. You can sink anytime or fall anytime. But those who have built their lives on the foundation of the solid rock - Jesus, will stand forever. Those who walk in the word of God will not stumble nor will he fall but will walk in the light. If you think that your house stands on sand, come to Jesus and give your life to Jesus. He is the rock of ages. You can dwell safely on Him.
