James 1:2-3, "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

When Jesus called His disciples to follow Him, He warned them of the trials they will have to face. He plainly said that following Him is the way of Cross and it won't be easy to go with Him. Paul also writes how he suffered and the tears he shed for Christ in Acts 20:19 "serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews." James says, "when you go through all the trials and testing rejoice because God is teaching you patience and molding you to be perfect and complete." At the end of testing and trials a believer is made more bold and more useful for Christ.

There was a servant of God who and his family went through much trials for the sake of Jesus Christ. One day they realized that their lives were in danger. It was hard for them to go through such situation. They prayed with tears whether they should move to another city or not. But God said to them, "stay in the same city", and so they had no other option except to obey God. Everyday they thought that it may be the last day of their lives. But every time God miraculously protected them and helped them to escape from all dangers. Those days of trials gave them enormous boldness to face greater challenges and to have more trust in the Lord.

After that some people started doing witchcraft and sorcery against them. With the help of witchcraft and sorcery they sent evil sicknesses, problems and even death and destruction. Though they suffered a lot because of all these yet God marvelously protected them and it could not harm them. When those who were doing witchcraft saw that their sorcery was not working properly so they got very angry and they openly challenged to kill them. Again God protected them and made them bolder than before for His use.

Dear servants of God, are you going through trials and tribulations today? May be you are shedding bitter tears today because of the problems you are facing. But if you trust in God, He will give you courage to come out of your trials triumphantly. God will not allow you to see defeat before your enemies but He will exalt you before others and He will wipe away all your tears.

When I looked at the
Pearly gates of Heaven
Oh, what a breathtaking beauty
What a shiny city
No words could ever describe it!

When I looked at the
Pearly gates of Heaven
A question rang, who will enter through it?
Only the righteous shall enter in it
Those who are washed
By the blood of the Lamb!
Those who keep the truth
Will enter through it.

Are you one of them?
If not, come to the cross
Wash yourself with the blood
Flowing from the cross
And enter with righteousness
The Pearly gates of heaven!

Special Prayers for Troops

Our "Standing in the Gap - Fasting prayer meeting" will be conducted on 13th July 2004.

In this Fasting Prayer special prayers will be offered for troops that are deployed in difficult areas where conflict is going on. We will be praying for their protection. So please send in prayer requests of your loved ones and friends who are serving in active duty.

I am able to get your messages since I registered recently. I am glad for this sharing of God's word, I have this faith and belief that His children are living on His spiritual fellowship, Praise God. I was the lay secretary of CSI Medak Diocese from where our present Moderator takes his roots, also worked for 20 yrs in Hospitals in same diocese. Our Church in India is need of a Renewal and a deep introspection to make it more challenging and relevant to the changing scenario. I have become more stronger in my faith than before, the experiences are different and challenges many I hope the Church leaders will make each member to become more sensitive and perceptive to the missions of our churches. I believe that we must meditate and work to realize what Our Lord Jesus Christ Pronounced--"Let your lights so shine before men that they may glorify your Lord who is in heaven--"
