Last month as well as this month there were massive earthquakes in Nepal. Thousands died and many more were injured. What a big tragedy in those serine mountains! Lives were shattered and shaken in just a few minutes. People come in search of serenity in those mountains. But now everything looks shaky there. The whole nation has lost its peace and is in the grip of fear and terror. Sadness is everywhere because many have lost there relatives or friends.
Bible tells us that the disciples of Jesus were almost in the same condition when Jesus was crucified. They were completely devastated and were in deep distress.. Their hearts were full of sadness and fear. But on the third day evening when they gathered in a house, Jesus stood among them and said, “peace be with you”, when they saw Jesus, their joy knew no bounds. In a split second their sorrows turned in to joy. Yes, there is a God who can wipe away our tears, who can remove our deepest pain and mourning. Bible says in Psalms 30:11, “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,”
You may be in tears today, you might have lost your loved ones today. You may be mourning today. You might have lost all your peace today but if you come to Jesus He is ready to wipe away your tears and remove even the deepest pain in your life.
Not only that, but He can forgive and wash away your sins by His precious blood which He shed on the cross. For this very purpose He went on the cross. He took all our penalties upon Himself so that we could live a sin free life and so that our sorrows could be turned into joy and our sicknesses vanish. He came to give us peace. He said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He also said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Would you give your life to Jesus today? If yes, He will forgive your sins and fill you with great joy and peace.

Mark was one of the devotees of Jesus. He was not among the twelve disciples of Jesus but he followed Jesus and later wrote the Gospel of Mark. Though he wrote the Gospel of Mark he did not leave any personal details about him. As an author of the book he did a very good job capturing Jesus' life from every aspect of His life. He began with his writing in Mark 1:1, ‘The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God" By saying this he declared that Jesus is not only just the long-awaited Jewish Messiah, but also the very Son of God or God Himself who came down in the form of a man to save us from our sins and from hell fire.
His main focus was to tell his readers that Jesus who was 100% God lived among us as a 100% human being. While on earth His divine qualities did not change.
On the one side Jesus was performing amazing miracles but on the other side Jesus was fully man. Jesus identified Himself as a human being. When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them. By His one touch people got healed, leprosy vanished, lame walked, blind saw, mute spoke, by His one command demons came out of people, by His one word, the raging sea was calmed.
When the demon processed people saw Him, they fell at His feat and said, "you are the Son of the Living God". Mark documents twenty amazing miracles of Jesus. The miracles were so amazing that people were astonished seeing those miracles. Many questioned who is this man? How can anybody do such mighty miracles?
Then Mark once again identified Jesus as the Son of God in the last chapters of the book. When Jesus was crucified and when He breathed His last there was a soldier who stood nearby, when he saw that Jesus cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God!" This Roman soldier had witnessed hundreds of thieves, robbers, murderers and criminals who had committed small or big crimes dying everyday. This Roman soldier who had seen so many criminals dying everyday for their own crimes or sins, but that day it was something different. He recognized Jesus as the Son of God who became a perfect sacrifice for our salvation. He realized that Jesus who was the sinless Son of God took our sins on Himself and gave Himself for us so that we could have salvation of our souls. He shed His last drop of blood for our salvation
Today this option is for us as well that if we recognize Jesus as the Son of God who took our sins on the cross to give us eternal life and if we come to Him, He will forgive our sins and will give us eternal life. Will you come to Him today?
