The month of December reminds us of the birth of Jesus. Isn't it amazing that God Himself came down in the form of a man to save us from our sins, from our eternal death and from our going to hell fire. What an amazing God is He and what an amazing birth was of His. There were signs in the sky. An angel was announcing His birth and several angels and heavenly hosts were signing praises of God and glorifying God. Jesus' coming on earth was the greatest gift for mankind. No other gift can match with the gift of life which came through Jesus.
When I was a small child once in our Church they showed Santa Clause movie in which Santa sneaked into the houses of people through the chimney and went in to children's bedroom and filled the socks with chocolates and gifts. Then he left quietly so that no children could notice about his visit.
On the way back home, I asked my mom who is Santa and could he come to our home as well in night? She replied that, it was just a fiction and his visit never happens. Well, that was disappointing to know that Santa never visits in anybody's home and does not distribute gifts. My small mind could not fathom the reality. When I came to USA and in Christmas time I was watching news, they said that Santa will be starting his journey from North pole distributing gifts in every home. I thought wow, how it is even possible for any human being to go to every home? No wonder, I never saw Santa coming to my house. It is sad that our society has replaced the living God with a mere man who cannot help us in anyway.
But I have Good News for you, Jesus who came down from heaven and born in the manger of Bethlehem can visit you with some very fine gifts which no one else can give you. Because Jesus is God, He can go anywhere. The very best gift He wants to give us is of the gift of forgiveness of our sins. When God saw that our sins cannot be forgiven by any means, He came down in this world to take our sins. If you want forgiveness of your sins, just come to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you. When you will do it, He will surely forgive your sins.
If you invite Him in your heart, He will gladly come in as the Bible says in Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."
What a joy to dine with the King of kings, Lord of lords, the creator of the whole universe. What a joy to become a child of the most high God! Would you give your life to Jesus today? Would you take the greatest gift of salvation and eternal life which comes from Jesus alone? If yes, please pray this prayer with me:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. Please forgive and forget all my sins by the shed blood of yours on the cruel cross. Come in to my heart and give me eternal life. Thank you Jesus for forgiving all my sins and giving me a place in heaven. I give you all the glory to you. I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Good News of Great Joy

When Jesus was born at that time some shepherds were keeping watch over their flock by night. And suddenly there was great light in the sky and an angel appeared to them. When the shepherds saw him they were greatly afraid. But the angel said that (Luke 2:10-11), "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." The angel also gave them the sign saying, "You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." Then there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us." And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
About 2000 years ago this Good News of great joy came to the shepherds that the Savior of the world is born. When they accepted that message and when they met Jesus their joy knew no bounds. They returned with great joy. To understand this Good News of great joy, we need to go way back to the beginning where God created Adam and Eve in His own image and in His likeness. But one day they sinned against God by eating the fruit of the tree which God forbid them to eat. When they ate it, they died spiritually. Not only that but pain, chaos and even death came in this world and because of sin we are all destined to hell fire. We cannot wipe away our sins by any means. That is the reason why Jesus came in this world bringing Salvation to man-kind. If we come to Jesus and give our lives in His hand, He will gladly forgive our sins. That is the good news that our sins can be forgiven by His shed blood on the cross. When we get forgiveness of our sins, a great joy comes in our hearts.
Not only Jesus wants to forgive our sins but also He wants to fill us with great joy by wiping away our tears. One day Jesus and His disciples were going to a place called Nain and a big crowd followed them. When they reached the city gate they saw that some people were bringing a dead body out of the city to bury it. It was a young man's dead body and his mother was a widow. He was her only child and probably the loan bread earner in the family. Mother was heart broken as she was left alone in this big world. But when Jesus saw her, He was moved with compassion for her. Then Jesus touched the open coffin and said, "Young man, I say to you, arise" as soon as He touched, the young man sat up and started to speak.
If death is cold, brutal and painful then life is the opposite of it. If death causes great pain in ones heart then life brings great joy. I cannot imagine the joy his mother would have felt in her heart. She would have laughed, she would have shed tears of joy, she would have danced and would have fallen at the feet of Jesus and praised Him for doing such an impossible thing for her. Just a few moments ago she was heart broken, she was hopeless and she was all alone but Jesus reversed it in a split second.
Jesus can do the same for us today. No matter what your problem is today, if you come to Jesus, He will not only reverse your situation but fill you with great joy.
