Psalms 150:6, "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!"
Bible tells us about the importance of praising God. Bible tells of many battles that were won by praising God. Many who were in deep trouble came out of their problems victoriously. Impossibilities became possibilities, sicknesses flew away, and mighty and awesome miracles have taken place when they praised God. Bible also tells us that God dwells in the midst of the praises of people. Ark of the Covenant was set up in the temple of God. It is in the Ark of the Covenant where God literally came down and spoke to His prophets. In Numbers 10:35-36 we read that, "So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: "Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You. And when it rested, he said: "Return, O LORD, To the many thousands of Israel."
So where the Ark of the Covenant was there God's Holy presence was manifested. Whenever the Israelites went out for battles they carried the Ark of the Covenant and it happened that God's presence went before them and gave them victory.
When we praise God, when we spend time at the feet of Jesus, His holy presence fills our lives and His presence brings victory in our lives.
We read in the Bible how Joshua led the Israelites. When they had to cross the Jordan River and when the priests with the Ark of the Covenant put their feet in water, water became a heap and stood both sides and in the midst there was dry ground.
Again when they went to Jericho, God instructed them as we read in Joshua 6: 2-5, "See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him."
Long story short, Joshua and the Israelites found that the big fortified wall came down on the 7th day and they could enter in the city of Jericho.
Today also God wants to come and dwell with us and wants to give us victory in our lives. Will you invite Him in your life?
Can Gay and Lesbians be Christian?
By Sherly Isaac
In order to understand this question, Can gay and lesbians be Christian, we need to first know who is a Christian? In Acts 11:26, we read, "And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch." Also in Mark 3:35 Jesus said, "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother."
So we read from these verses that, "Disciples" and "those who do the will of God" were Christians. Sometimes people think that those who belong to a Church are Christians but Christianity is not a religion but 'relationship with Jesus'. A person could be in a Christian Church but not necessary that he/she could be a Christian. A person could be in a Christian home but not necessary that he/she could be a Christian.
To become a Christian, we need to come in a relationship with God. We need to repent of our sins and turn from our evil ways. When a person repents from his/her sins and asks for forgiveness of his/her sins from Lord Jesus, He gladly forgives and forgets all their sins. That day marks first step to become a Christian. After that they have to walk in the will of God and do everything right according to the Bible. Unless a person's sins are forgiven, he/she cannot come in the presence of Holy God.
Now to our first question, "Can gay and lesbians be Christian"? I would say that, "they can be Christian only if they repent of their sins and come to Jesus for forgiveness, Jesus will forgive and forget their sins." But if they continue in their gay lifestyle, they cannot be a Christian. Court may recognize gay marriage as legal, court may give rights to gay couples but it does not change the law of God which clearly tells us that unless a person receives forgiveness of sin, he/she cannot enter into heaven.
We read in Ephesians 5:2-6, "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."
My friend, there is no sin which Jesus cannot forgive. So I urge you to come to Jesus with a heart full of repentance. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and turn from your sinful ways. If you do that, Jesus will not only forgive and forget your sins but also He will give you eternal life. May God bless you.
